About

Apple Branch is an ADF Protogrove located in Champaign-Urbana, IL.

Monthly business meetings are held to plan upcoming rituals and outings. Community service is an important part of grove activities. In the past we’ve made donations to food banks as well as to the Urbana Free Library. Our numbers are small but that does not keep us from being active! Our members are also involved with the Heilag Skjold Hearth, Catskin Sisters, The Troth, and the Pagan Student Association (PSA) at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign campus as well as ADF and other pagan groups. We are now pursuing full grove status.

If you’d like to know more about who we are, you can. You can also contact us by email, snail mail, phone, or Yahoo!Group. We also are on Witchvox.

  1. I am writing to get some information about your group. I have lived in Danville for almost 3 years but I find my spiritual life is lacking. I found a web page called Witchvox and that lead me to you. I would be interested in knowing more about your group and also finding someone to talk to about my relatively unexplored spiritual path. I’ve tried attending certain liberal churches but it’s not what I am looking for. I am reading a book about paganism and find it very interesting. I am also a gardener and am working hard to establish gardens on my 2 acres of land; food, flowers and herbs. Any information you could provide or guidance would be greatly appreciated.
    Blessed be — Brother Brian

  2. Hello Brian,

You are certainly welcome to join us in our holiday rituals. The best way to keep updated on the doings of our group is to join the Apple Branch Yahoo Group list. For general info on Paganism, herbalism, horticulture, or natural history, I’d be glad to meet with you sometime to talk & discuss any questions you might have. I know that, especially for someone just discovering paganism, it can be difficult to find reliable experienced fellows. Just email me and we’ll set something up.

    Hi Cindy,

I am curious if your group will have a public Winter Solstice celebration this year, or know of any. I used to live in Madison, WI and enjoyed going to Circle’s Winter solstice celebration up there. I am hoping to find something similar down here. Thanks for your help.

The grove is still active. Our page is just dated. We’re in the process up updating, so stay tuned. Otherwise, we meet the first Thursday of each month at Cafe Paradiso.

    Greetings,

I am a Germanic Heathen, work with Runes and am also deeply interested in Ogham and Celtic Paganism. I would love to experience your Grove and see if your group is a right fit for me.
