Attendees: Cindy, Ashley, Scott, Heather
Topics:
- Lughnassah. Will be held August 2nd @ 4pm. Cindy will be hosting once again. Dinner and “games of skill” will take place after the ritual. There will be game prizes. Cindy will provide the meat (pork loin). Other food/beverages being brought: mashed potatoes, beer. Please RSVP so we can make sure there’s enough food
Also, let us know what you plan to bring for dinner so we don’t end up with repeats. As always, bring whatever personal offerings you’d like to make. - Future meetings. The Urbana Library room reservation has been continued for another year. Those dates will be posted soon. Also, flyers will be made to promote the grove. If you’d like a PDF to post at your favorite hang outs, let me know.
- Field Trip. On September 7th (Labor Day) @ 2pm there will be a grove “trip” to Meadow Brook Park to check out the fall prairie. We’ll meet at the Race park enterance (by the herb garden).
- Joint Event with PSA (Pagan Student Association at UI). Tamilia proposed a joint event between Apple Branch and PSA during the June meeting. The conversation continued at this meeting. The suggestion of asking Diane Paxson to come to CU was suggested. My understanding is that we’ve an “in” with her (Vedis) and that typically Paxson just wants her housing/meals paid for. The thought is that PSA could get meeting space for next to nothing at the Illini Union for this. Illini Union guest rooms could be the housing (about $65 a night). Also, the Illini Union Bookstore could do a book signing or some other “author” event in tangent with PSA/AB to further make the trip worth while for Paxson. We could get her to do a trance workshop! Advertisement could be done on the various list-serves as well as with Beads and Botanicals in Urbana. Any profit remaining after Paxons expenses could be split between PSA and AB. No decisions have been made as this will require some investigation on feasibility but the excitement over the idea is palpable. What says you?
- August meeting is the 13th.
